Düsseldorf: Low-Floor Tramcar NF 8 and NF 10

Delivery: 2000-2004

The network operated by the Rheinische Bahngesellschaft AG (Rheinbahn), Düsseldorf, has a total length of approximately 150 km. The new tramcars in 100% low-floor technology are operated on the non-tunnel lines.

36 single-directional vehicles of the type NF 10, which are 40 m long, have already taken up scheduled operation.
15 vehicles of the type NF 8, which are 30 m long, are being manufactured at the moment.

The vehicle concept ensures the passengers high comfort and the operator reliable operation without much maintenance. The central conceptional components are the two roof containers. In each roof container there are two complete traction inverters, a static on-board converter with vehicle battery as well as the vehicle control components. These roof containers are supplied to the car manufacturer completely wired and tested.
