Krefeld: 19 low-floor trams

Delivery: 2009-2010

On December 17, 2007, a contract was signed in Krefeld on (initially) 19 low-floor trams; the first of these was scheduled for delivery as early as December 2009, with the remaining 18 to follow at two-week intervals, up to August 2010. Thereafter, there is an option for a further 19 such trams.

The end-to-end low-floor Cityrunner is a member of Bombardier's Flexity Outlook family, model FOC 5.2 Krefeld.
These Vienna-designed trams will undergo final assembly in Bautzen, with manufacturing taking place in Aachen. The entire roof assembly will be prebuilt, fully cabled from the top and bottom, before the floor assembly and two side parts are riveted into place.
